Set out below are the criteria necessary to be considered for the award of an Agri-farm Scholarship.

As an applicant you must:

  • Satisfy the entrance requirements and be accepted onto the Cranfield MBA Programme.
  • Be a UK citizen and currently working in a position of responsibility as the owner or as an employee on a UK farm or as a younger executive in an UK business related to agriculture.
  • Have a track record of management and evidence of innovation as well as a demonstrable desire to drive business forward to the highest levels of efficiency and competitiveness is particularly valuable.
  • Be prepared, within reason, to act as ambassadors for high quality management in agriculture and to promote the Scholarship to suitable candidates having graduated from Cranfield.

Obtaining an Agri-Farm Scholarship involves two separate stages. To be considered for a Scholarship you must first be accepted onto the Cranfield MBA Programme. Details of the entry requirements and the selection process are available via the link on the Cranfield MBA page on this site. When you apply to Cranfield the application form will allow you to state your interest in the Agri-Farm Scholarship.

If you are accepted onto the MBA Programme your details will be passed to the Scholarship’s Trustees and you will then be contacted by the Trust to arrange a formal interview. Applicants will be invited for interview by a panel consisting of two or more of the Scholarship’s trustees. At the start of the interview you will be given an opportunity to explain why you should be awarded a Scholarship. The panel will also be keen to learn how as a successful candidate you intend to promote high standards of management in agriculture. The Trust will normally award one scholarship per year for the full-time programme and one for the part-time programmes though the Trustees have scope to exercise discretion. Applicants may not be informed as to whether they have been successful until all candidates have been interviewed. The Trustees decision will be final.
